This is a full-time, 10-week program designed to give you real-world experience working within the telecommunications industry in your field of choice.
Internship program runs from May 27 through July 31, 2026.In addition to the role-based projects you'll work on, you'll also participate in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, and have access to a mentor.

This internship offers hands-on experience supporting editorial initiatives that strengthen reporting, ensure accuracy, and uphold newsroom standards. Based in Tampa, Florida, this onsite internship focuses on editorial operations, content coordination, and research support. Interns work closely with the Editorial Services team, as well as our journalists around the country, to help execute initiatives that elevate journalism, support newsroom performance, and serve audiences with clarity and purpose
What You Can Expect In This Role
As a Spectrum intern, you'll spend the summer working alongside two teams — your respective department and your intern peer group.
You'll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 27th, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects, and final presentations.
Internship Responsibilities May IncludePut your research, organizational, and editorial skills to work collaborating with newsrooms across the country. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting editorial initiatives that strengthen reporting, ensure accuracy, and uphold newsroom standards. Based in Tampa, Florida, this onsite internship focuses on editorial operations, content coordination, and research support. Interns work closely with the Editorial Services team, as well as our journalists around the country, to help execute initiatives that elevate journalism, support newsroom performance, and serve audiences with clarity and purpose
Conduct in-depth research and gather background materials to support editorial projects
View, log, and organize video content for newsroom and editorial use
Assist in cutting and preparing video segments for internal and editorial initiatives
Collaborate with editors and producers to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and timely

Support project workflows for cross-newsroom initiatives and audience-focused content
Participate in editorial planning discussions and contribute to maintaining newsroom standards
You'll gain hands-on experience in editorial research, project coordination, and video content workflows while collaborating with teams across a national news organization.
This internship provides mentorship from experienced editorial professionals and valuable insight into how newsroom standards are maintained across platforms, markets, and time zones.
Required QualificationsMust be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor's degree
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
Strong research, organizational, and time management skills
Interest in editorial processes, project management, and cross-platform content
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
Familiarity with newsroom operations, video formats, or digital content is a plus
