    POSITION SUMMARY

    Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. (ESG) is looking for an Export Compliance Analyst to assist with daily job functions in the Export Compliance department for the companies Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) project. The ideal candidate must have professional communication skills as they will be interacting with contractors, potential contractors, and ESG employees across multiple departments by email and phone. Additionally, this person must have a positive attitude, willingness to help others, desire to learn and grow in Export Compliance, and help the company succeed in complying with export control laws. This is an entry level position with the opportunity to grow with in the department.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

    • Maintains Export Control Inbox
    • Edit Export Control Tracker
    • Collect NVR NDAs from ESG Employees and Contractors
    • Administers Export Compliance Training to ESG Employees and Maintains training records
    • Assist with preparing and reviewing of new/amended Export Licenses
    • Assist in obtaining signatures for Export Licenses
    • Assist in obtaining License Owner Acknowledgements
    • Assist with Export Control Vetting Process for new Contractors. This includes but is not limited to, reaching out to potential contractors, and working with internal departments to gather information
    • Assist with International Travel Request and Foreign On-Site Visitor Request
    • Export Control Classification of documents - ITAR and EAR
    • Assist in conducting annual department audits
    • Record Keeping
    • Other duties as assigned
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.

    Job Requirements

    REQUIREMENTS
    Experience:Three or more years providing administrative support at a high level required; a bachelor's degree is desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience with government programs, particularly involving regulatory compliance and auditing is preferred.

    Skills: Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, Company policies/procedures and governmental regulations. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate (written and verbal) with stakeholders (both internal and external) and with government agencies. A demonstrated ability to self-start, prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced environment. Requires excellent written, oral, and presentation/communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Meet ITAR definition of 22 CFR§ U.S. person. Intermediate Adobe skills specifically Adobe Acrobat. Experience with ITAR and EAR (preferred but not required), and interest in export compliance and willingness to learn.
