    Description
    MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is adding a Specialty Clinical Pharmacist to its team in Washington, DC.

    Collaborates with providers to ensure safe and effective use of specialty medications and improves communication among the patient's healthcare team by reviewing and evaluating clinical guidelines, formulating protocols, conducting medication reconciliation, creating patient care plans and providing patient consultation that will improve patient medication adherence, health, well-being and knowledge. Documents and reports on healthcare-related interventions and outcomes. Participates in the process of maintaining specialty pharmacy accreditation.
    Education
    • Doctoral degree PharmD from an accredited college of Pharmacy required
    Experience
    • 3+ years of direct patient care experience in a clinical role, preferably in a specialty pharmacy required
    • Ambulatory care experience preferred
    Licenses and Certifications
    • PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in the District of Columbia
    • Eligibility for reciprocity to surrounding states, as required for practice
    • Completion of an ASHP accredited residency or other approved advanced training program, or Board of Pharmacy Specialty certification (BPS) or other approved certification like Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP), AAHIVP preferred
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Verbal and written communication skills.
    • Basic computer skills preferred.
