Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
Provide medication management and adjustment
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Ensure the highest quality of care for consumers
Prescribe medications and treatments with attention to existing medical diagnoses and concomitant therapies.
Meet with patients in a timely manner in order to monitor progress and recommend necessary changes to their medication regimen and treatment interventions.
Document all evaluations of and interactions with patients including the administration of medications and treatments within 24 hours.
Use our web-based tracking system to document recommendations for treatment and /or referrals to provide the capability to easily share patient progress with PCPs and other treating providers.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that provides primary care to employees and consumer
-Perform consumer's histories and physicals, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to consultations and appointments
Requirements:
Active NP licensure in Washington DC
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification in good standing and current state nursing license
Active DEA Certificate/License
Knowledge of medical diagnoses, appropriate treatments and medical terminology, approved detoxification regimens, addiction medicine and substance abuse disorders, cooccurring disorders, DSM Criteria and terminology
Experience working with underserved, transient populations and clinical co‐morbidities such as co-existing mental health, substance abuse and physical health conditions
Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence-based clinical recommendations
