    Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries.

    We're doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

    Director of Electrical & Firmware Engineering

    You are a passionate engineering leader who cares as much about building great products as about building great teams.

    You will lead a team of engineers (power electronics, electrical, firmware, test) and technicians to build technology in support of Redwood's battery materials manufacturing, refining, and recycling processes.

    The scope of the role includes setting development strategy, team execution, and building/sustaining culture. You will interact with peers and executive management across the organization.

    Lead a team of electrical, power electronics, firmware, and test engineers in design and implementation while taking into consideration performance, safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

    Define and drive the overall electrical architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's goals.

    Oversee the development of system requirements, specifications, design guidelines, and validation plans for electrical systems and subsystems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    Collaborate with mechanical and software engineering teams to specify and integrate harnessing, enclosures, communication protocols and control systems.

    Collaborate with program management to ensure timely completion of work, drive product development process improvements, and communicate progress across key stakeholders throughout the company.

    Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to resolve complex engineering challenges in the plant, ensuring high uptime of deployed systems.

    Manage budgets and supplier / contract manufacturer relationships.
    Lead by example and provide technical guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality designs, effective teamwork, and efficient collaboration.
    BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    ~Experience in Altium or related E-CAD software.
    ~ Strong leadership and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives.
    ~ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization and present to internal and external executives.

    The position is full-time.
