    About this role


    The Associate Director, Manufacturing Operations will lead a global 12-20 person international direct hire team of program managers across the 11 site Commercial Fire footprint to deliver on $59M in productivity as well as support and drive strategic business objectives to grow the Commercial Fire business to $1.1B in 2024.


    This includes but is not limited to creating long range plans for the Commercial Fire business, developing the strategic business reviews objectives and deliverables, identifying and leading productivity initiatives, developing and monitoring schedules of operational projects, maintaining proper staffing levels and skill sets, training, mentoring and developing employees, performing performance reviews, holding self and direct reports accountable for meeting project and corporate objectives, and working closely with other departments to build a cohesive team and overcome departmental boundaries.

    Key Responsibilities


    Lead and enable a global team of 12-20 Program Managers who are responsible for cross functionally managing $20-50M in productivity pipeline and savings opportunities for Commercial Fire.


    • Manage material and logistics productivity program for Commercial Fire which closed 2023 with $375M in spend across 5 manufacturing sites and 2 distribution centers.


    o Work with global site leads to drive monthly action items targeted to achieve a minimum of 5% productivity or $18M total savings for 2024.


    • Coordinate 10-20 person project teams for cross functional operations strategy programs to deliver $3.2M in EBIT savings for Commercial Fire across global cross-functional transfer of works, localization efforts, and operational projects for 5 manufacturing sites and 2 distribution centers.
    • Manage global production volume shifts to mitigate $3.7M in tariffs (33% reduction) for the overall Commercial Fire and Edwards business.
    • Forecast and manage $5.1M in CAPEX spend to support localization and operations strategy program production ramp ups to ensure minimal impact to customer on time delivery during transfer timelines.
    Manages 3-5 Senior Managers within operations to provide direction and guidance for:

    • Navojoa Program management - Senior Managers
    • Poland senior managers
    • TOW senior managers


    Establish cadence and report out standardization to ensure Commercial Fire delivers a minimum of $24M in inventory reduction in 2024.


    • Organize 7 site leads to drive action items targeted to achieve monthly financial KPIs
    • Coordinate weekly cross functional updates across 7 sites to identify risks and opportunities to meeting monthly net inventory targets


    Individually coordinate strategic initiatives to grow revenue to $1.1B (4.4% growth) across all business functions and impacting 11 global sites for Commercial Fire.


    • Develop and collaborate on the strategic Long Range Plan (LRP) for Commercial Fire with the VP GM of the business
    • Establish and implement strategic agenda for 2024 Commercial Fire Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with VP GM of the business
    • Organize and manage Commercial Fire ELT initiatives to deliver on 9% order growth, achieve $228M in EBIT, $18M in productivity, $24M in inventory reduction, and reach $185M in cash flow by the end of 2024
    • Lead cross functional preparation for Carrier and Fire & Security Executive Leadership Team discussions
    • Assist and drive additional activities to achieve 2024 Commercial Fire objectives per VP GM direction
    Continue driving day to day direction, goals, methods, coaching, escalation and development across all global direct reports and the Commercial Fire executive team that include but is not limited to:


    • Prioritize and manage people, projects, and resources to optimize efficiency, productivity and quality for successful on-time delivery, warehouse optimization, systems optimization and drive lean, sustainable practices throughout the organization
    • Implements disentanglement strategies, Greenfield opportunities, and Transfer of Work initiatives to support short-term and long-term business objectives.
    • Develop project charters, work plans and assign resources in support of departmental initiatives. Assign resources to other corporate initiatives that require project management support.
    • Track and report out to executive and senior leadership on project progress and financials including but not exclusive to PPV savings, working capital impact, total landing cost reduction, and tariff mitigation.
    • Identify new pipeline projects that expand strategic Transfer of Work (TOW) initiatives and impact.
    • Leads, represents, and coordinates Transfer of Work (TOW) team and strategy with business units and stakeholders.
    • Represent the project management team at meetings and in other areas as required.
    • Monitor department performance metrics to make sure we are meeting our goals and report results to the Vice President and Director of Finance.
    Required Qualifications


    • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of experience in Program/Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and/or Supply Chain. Or, Graduate Degree with 8+ years of experience in Program/Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and/or Supply Chain Experience
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Extensive knowledge of Project Management principles and practices.
    • Ability to plan, supervise, manage and participate in a wide variety of Project Management related activities.
    • Strong communication and management skills combined with business analytics, process and system development, and the ability to manage and drive change effectively
    • Proven examples of continuous improvement in efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the materials function within high growth, fast paced, supply chain and/or manufacturing environment
    • Experience with the detailed analysis necessary to make data driven decisions to drive efficiencies and lean principles while demonstrating financial understanding of materials and supply chain performance
    • Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
    • Mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft programs as needed
    • Extensive knowledge of accepted personnel, supervisory, financial, operational, project management, customer service and Lean Six Sigma principles and practice.
