    Job Responsibilities

    Midlands Technical College is a public, multi-campus, two-year public college serving the primary region of Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties of South Carolina that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates.     • The instructor serving as Health Science Department Chair is responsible for instructional management, personnel supervision and evaluation, program and curriculum development and assessment, and accurate reports for the courses and programs within the department. The department chair is also responsible to provide instruction and guidance to students who are enrolled in courses in Health Sciences.
    • The Chair is responsible for departmental leadership and management (40%), supervision (20%), instruction (15%), instructional development and management (10%), student advisement (10%), and professional development & college/ community services (5%).

    The positron is located on the Airport Campus in the School of Health Care.

    Minimum and Additional Requirements

    Department Chairs/ Heads will meet, at a minimum, the faculty requirements as listed below and will have three (3) years of progressively responsible related work experience. Faculty teaching associate degree courses designed for transfer to a baccalaureate degree, doctor's or master's degree in the teaching discipline or mater's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).

    Faculty teaching associate degree courses not designed for transfer to the baccalaureate degree: bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline, or associate's degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.
