    Description

    General Summary:

    This is a specialized staff position within the Family and Communities service line of Sheppard Pratt which requires knowledge of the special needs of children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disabilities, and their families. Primary responsibilities, under the supervision of The Manager of the Multisystemic Program include coordination of and provision of direct clinical and case management services with strict adherence to the MST model. This position that requires a flexible schedule in order to accommodate the needs of families being served.

    Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct MST assessment including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and developing an analysis of the fit of problem behaviors within the ecological context.
  • Engage primary caregiver and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
  • Implement a problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, outcome review and strategy revision procedure using the MST Analytic Process.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts according to MST program standards that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with the 9 MST Principles and the MST Analytic Process.
  • Collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to ensure their buy-in and cooperation throughout MST treatment.
  • Provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practices.
  • Participate in all MST training, supervision and consultation activities.
  • Serve as emergency contact via the On-Call System according to established procedures.
  • Serve as liaison with referral sources, school personnel, and families, including initiating and/or attending any outside case conferences, team meetings, court hearings, or phone contacts necessary to facilitate a continuum of care for each family
  • Actively participate in weekly supervision with MST expert and supervisor.
  • Assist with maintenance of program space, equipment and supplies
  • Participate in improving program effectiveness and efficiency by contributing to program evaluation, as well as working to ensure continuous improvements in the quality of services
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Education: Master's degree in a related human services field required.
  • Professional Experience: Two years positively referenced relevant work experience with children and families. Additional education may be substituted for experience.
  • Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to navigate through applications and utilize keyboard
  • Driving Record: Safe driving record
  • Background Check: Satisfactory C&A CPS, Federal and State Background Checks
  • Availability of Work Schedule: Works a flexible schedule (in-person) to meet family and program needs including evening or weekends. Requires On-Call availability.
