    Essential Functions

    As the Pool Manager, you'll be the leader of the aquatic pack, collaborating with the Aquatics Supervisor and Aquatics Recreation Coordinator to steer our facility towards success. If you're ready to turn your passion for aquatics into a leadership adventure, this role is for you
    1. Ensures the safety of facility users by following state and local safety regulations; enforces safety guidelines that are consistent with departmental policies.
    2. Responsible for the collection of fees, the preparation of bank deposits, and departmental records and reports, including payroll.
    3. Monitors and records checklists and water chemistry, notifies supervisor of chemical inventory and equipment supplies.
    4. Supervises the maintenance and operation of the aquatic facilities by working with Recreation Maintenance Supervisor, the Parks division and outside vendors through the Aquatics Supervisor.
    5. Conducts weekly in-service training; evaluates and gives instruction to lifeguards; organizes opportunities for staff to regularly practice various life guarding skills.
    6. Conducts trainings as needed with pool cashier staff. Monitors admissions and concessions areas throughout the shift.
    7. Promotes public relations with facility users and organizations.
    8. Establishes performance measures for subordinates and evaluates employee performance against those standards.
    9. Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.
    10. Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
    11. Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others in the course of daily work.

    Required Skills
    • Either one summer season as Assistant Pool Manager at Grapevine or other aquatic facility that has American Red Cross Certified Lifeguards or equivalent supervisory experience is required. (Equivalent supervisory experience may include teachers, coaches, or positions that involve supervising, teaching, training and/or managing large groups of young people typically ages OR One summer season in the Grapevine Parks and Recreation "Manager In Training" program.
    • Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred.
    • Must get the initial American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, AED, and First Aid certification before the hire date.
      • All certification trainings are offered through the City of Grapevine
      • Recertification can be obtained after being hired
      • Certifications must be maintained during employment
  • Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and have a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
    • For those hired before the outdoor pool season opens, attending, obtaining, and maintaining a Food Manager certificate is required
    • For those hired at Dove Waterpark after it opens, obtaining and maintaining a Food Manager certificate is a must
