    Aircraft Quality Inspector, Req. 2126

    The Aircraft Quality Inspector performs the inspection and test of materials, parts and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards.


    Essential Functions:

    • Performs inspections of aviation components using specified measuring equipment
    • Disassembles and inspects parts for wear, warping or other defects
    • Provides technical assistance, interprets technical data, and evaluates maintenance actions to ensure safe and reliable aircraft, components, and equipment is provided in accordance with current technical publications and directives.
    • Reviews technical publications, directives, reports, and subsequent revisions and confers with quality assurance, maintenance, management, and engineering personnel to solve work-related problems.
    • Inspects, tests and certifies mechanical and hydraulic, fuel, electrical and pneumatic aviation components
    • Inspects and reviews maintenance source documents, inspection records, and other related forms used in aircraft, vehicle, and equipment maintenance to ensure forms and records are current, and comply with established procedures, Army directives, and contract specifications.
    • Implements and enforces quality policies and procedures that meet the requirements of ISO 9001/AS9110.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED required.

    Experience:

    • Six years total experience in aircraft maintenance, including two years aircraft inspector under the Army Maintenance Management System in the last five years. Air Force and Navy Aviation will be considered as required.
    • Ten years rotary wing maintenance experience may be substituted for inspector experience
    • FAA A&P license; experience and military training may be used in lieu of A&P
    • FAA Inspection Authorization preferred
    Experience with UH/HH 60 L/M is required.

    Graduate of BNOC course or higher.

    ACN training/experience is required.
