    Description
    The Supply Chain Manager leads procurement efforts for the regional enterprise and is responsible for all spending. Will lead centralized direct and indirect sourcing and procurement efforts.

    This includes working with internal stakeholders from initial need identification to final goods or service delivery to meet stakeholder needs.

    Will work with stakeholders in demand management, supply analysis/strategy, supplier identification, sourcing execution, contract negotiation, delivery planning and monitoring, purchase execution, and then ongoing performance management and improvement.

    The Supply Chain Manager will accomplish these tasks through a team of sourcing and procurement professionals, local and remote, who will work for and with the various plants and suppliers selected to meet their needs.

    Will work closely with the leadership to ensure that procurement is aligned with the strategic needs of the business.

    Primary ResponsibilitiesCreation and ongoing value creation with a world class supply baseCreation and management of short, mid, and long term goals and objectivesCreation and improvement of best-practice based processes (e.g., leadership of high-value/strategic sourcing efforts)Management of business process outsourcing activitiesIdentification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunitiesManagement of strategic sourcing and purchasing personnel.

    Managing the skills and competency development of procurement staff, including training development and knowledge management capabilitiesLeadership of cross-functional teaming across other business functions and initiativesBudget management for categories under management - and for procurement itselfDevelopment of benchmarks and scorecards to be used for continuous improvementSkillsStrong leadership skillsTeam player at all levels to collaborate with business units and functional partners like Plant Management, Engineering, Advanced Materials, finance, HR, etc.

    Solid operational management and general business skills and savvyIndustry knowledge in terms of broad industry dynamics on the buy-side (and the sell-side), but also the internal knowledgeIn-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices.

    Strong negotiation skillsFamiliarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal riskStrategic mindset and problem-solving skillsChange management skillsKnowledge of enterprise risk management and business continuity planningMergers & Acquisitions, as well as integration experienceExperienceAt least 10-15 years of supply management experience, operational management experience, in a global manufacturing company.

    Strong leadership and organizational design experience is required.
    EducationBachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, finance, operations, engineering or a related area.

    CertificationsIndustry recognized certification such as the CPSM from the Institute for Supply Management or a near equivalent from firms such as the American Purchasing Society, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, International Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Institute, The International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management and others are strongly preferred.
