Job summary
The Manufacturing & Production Manager is responsible for the end-to-end manufacturing operations of our high-performance propeller business—from investment casting through machining, post-processing, finishing, final inspection and delivery to customers.This role owns the entire production supply chain and is accountable for cost quality throughput and on time delivery.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end production supply chain for propellers from investment casting to final inspection and delivery.
- Manage materials acquisition including supplier selection pricing contract negotiation develop maintain effective inventory management practices to support production schedules.
- Lead daily operations of a two shift per day manufacturing team including casting machining post processing finishing inspection own production planning scheduling meet customer delivery commitments optimize capacity utilization manage bottlenecks drive standard work visual management process controls shop floor collaborate closely Engineering Technology teams transition new products process changes stable repeatable production serve operational owner Total Quality Management TQM across manufacturing coordinate development implementation continuous improvement Quality Management System QMS lead efforts achieve maintain AS9100 Rev D ISO 9001:2015 certification track improve key quality metrics work Quality Engineering implement root cause analysis corrective preventive actions process capability improvements Lead mentor develop multi disciplinary manufacturing team supervisors leads technicians operators support staff establish clear performance expectations goals development plans partner HR recruiting onboarding training performance management retention strategies financial COGS Management own manufacturing operations budget labor materials overhead capital expenditure planning manage Cost Goods Sold provide regular operational financial reporting CEO Directors Finance Operations variance analysis improvement plans Vendor Facilities Management oversee vendor supplier management castings raw materials tooling subcontracted processes services qualify monitor suppliers quality delivery performance cost manage facilities equipment preventative maintenance uptime capital project planning ensure warehousing staging internal logistics efficient material flow safe organized storage Safety Compliance champion strong safety culture compliance relevant environmental health safety regulations ensure procedures training documentation maintained followed shifts coordinate HR EHS resources investigate incidents implement corrective actions track safety metrics Required Qualifications Bachelor degree Engineering Operations Management Industrial Management related field equivalent experience considered years experience metal fabrication environment machined castings tight tolerance machining finishing operations kitting packaging engineered components B B fulfillment workflows reverse logistics service warranty repair operations proven track record operational leadership direct responsibility production metrics quality cost performance MRP ERP systems manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications experienced leading achieving AS9100 Rev D ISO 9001:2015 certification background TQM Lean Six Sigma certifications plus Experience machining finishing complex rotating components propellers impellers turbines similar prior responsibility capital equipment selection justification implementation worked closely with R&D Design manufacturability Key Skills Competencies leadership skills motivate teams levels data driven decision making interpret operational financial quality metrics excellent problem solving root cause analysis capabilities effective communicator comfortable working executive leadership cross functional stakeholders continuous improvement mindset focus scalable processes sustainable results organizational skills prioritize fast paced environment
