    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Job Summary:

    The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will assess needs, plan strategies, and provide evidence-based support to students with communication challenges in various educational settings such as general and special education classrooms, specialized schools, and community settings. The therapist must be skilled in implementing diverse strategies and service delivery models to improve communicative abilities in students with different disabilities.

    Essential Functions:

    • Knowledge of assessment strategies and analysis skills
    • Develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) following state and federal guidelines
    • Collect and analyze data for progress monitoring
    • Collaborate with colleagues on IU and district initiatives
    • Strong organization and time management skills
    • Strategic thinking in service delivery

    Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment: The work environment may include moderate noise levels.

    Physical Demands: The employee must be able to sit, walk, reach, talk, and hear. They may need to stand for long periods, climb, lift objects, and have specific vision abilities.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with 193 workdays in various locations across Bucks County, with hours depending on the assignment in different educational settings.

    Travel: Travel within Bucks County may be required and is reimbursed based on IRS guidelines.

    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:

    • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
    • Pennsylvania Department of Education Certificate in Speech-Language Impaired PK-12
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
    • License to practice Speech Language Pathology in PA preferred

    * Consideration for strong Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates for Long Term Substitute (LTS) positions.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Understanding of Pennsylvania and Federal Special Education Regulations
    • Clinical competence in supporting diverse communicative needs
    • Effective communication skills
    • Knowledge of computer technology and Augmentative-Alternative Communication
    • Compliance with health, safety, and confidentiality regulations

    Work Authorization/Security Clearance: US citizenship or work authorization is required.
