Job Description – Warehouse Associate
Tasks
Move goods, product, or other freight to and from storage, loading docks, delivery vehicles, lift vans, or containers, by hand or using forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks or other equipment.
Sort items before loading and unloading.Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
Stack goods or product in locations such as vaults or trailers, using pallets or cargo boards.
Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.
Receive information or instructions for performing work assignments.
Load shipments, belongings, or product.
Safely operate moving or lifting equipment.
Record operational or production data.
Verify all items are received per shipment inventories.
Document existing damage to items as it is unloaded from trailers, containers, lift vans, etc.
Pack, seal, and label to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools
Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
Document locations of storage items in the warehouse using storage locator cards.
Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.

Ensuring cleanliness, tidiness and safety of work environment.

Essential Requirements for the position:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Work experience as general laborer, preferably in warehouse.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work overtime as required.
Strong reading, writing, and math abilities.
Previous shipping/receiving or material handling experience preferred.
Prior forklift experience preferred.
Physically strong, agile and dexterous, and undeterred by adverse climatic conditions.
