    Job Purpose



    The Engineering Supervisor will perform a variety of services. This includes, but not limited to managing activities related to estimating and processing service and prototype orders.

    Interface with vendors and Dana personnel in sales, product development, engineering, materials, operations, and customer contacts involved with service and prototype releasing and receiving activities.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities



    Develop cost estimates for responding to inquiries.


    • Develop and maintain an appropriate database to capture costs and tooling for repetitive processes such as welding and machining for axle tube products.
    • Submit budgetary releases for direct materials and develop cost history of commonly purchased materials and components.
    • Develop and maintain methods for accurate estimation of service and prototype cost and lead time.
    • Provide liaison between product and process engineering, materials, and manufacturing operations.
    • Develop standardized systems for acquiring and communicating required quality and process documentation.
    • Communicate customer requirements for deliveries and coordinate with appropriate manufacturing personnel to assure necessary flow of materials to customer requested shipping schedules.
    • Prioritize requirements when scheduling conflicts arise.
    • Maintain and report monthly work order/budget to actual status.
    • Maintain accurate record of inventories of raw materials and W.I.P. to satisfy future orders based on information obtained from materials and manufacturing operations.

    Competencies:

    • Bachelor of science degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and specific welding & machining process capabilities.
    • Accurate mathematical and processing skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and AutoCAD.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Knowledge of material handling systems and equipment.
    • Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and procedures.
