- Develop (or assist in the development), implement, and evaluate the local organization Infection Prevention Program Develop (or assist in development) of an annual surveillance plan based on annual risk assessment Utilize epidemiologic principles to conduct surveillance and investigations Identifies areas of potential infection risk and creates processes to minimize risk Compiles data for monthly reporting to various internal local and system committees and programs Utilizes available resources for consultation when working outside of current knowledge base Develops and monitors an effective local hand hygiene program that complies with the WHO and policy guidelines. Provides monthly reports on hand hygiene compliance Performs environment of care rounding in inpatient and outpatient locations. Provides immediate feedback to all relevant stakeholders and monitors action plans Provides direct oversight to all construction projects related to infection prevention Facilitates compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
