Public Works Project Engineer in Dallas, TexasServe as an extension of staff for cities, counties, or other public-sector entities to manage and deliver capital improvement projectsManage the planning and design phase of a variety of municipal transportation projects, including roadway widening, roadway rehabilitation, intersection improvements, traffic signal installation, and/or bridge improvements (expansion, major repairs and modifications).

Transportation projects may also include franchise utility coordination, sidewalk improvements, minor drainage improvements, water line (12-inch or less) replacement, and/or sewer line (18-inch or less) replacement.

Monitor and control the project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure projects are delivered on time and with the allowable budgetCoordinate and communicate effectively with internal project stakeholders to ensure completed projects are meeting the expectations and needs of the individuals who will operate and maintain the improvementsConduct technical reviews of planning and design submittals to ensure deliverables meet the applicable design standardsConduct a constructability review of all design submittals to ensure projects have adequate right-of-way and are phase to allow for efficient constructionProvide oversight and provide direction to junior-level staffPrepare projects for public bidding, evaluate bids/proposals, and make recommendations for awardProvide construction administration through final completionQualifications7+ years of progressive work experience in the planning, design, and construction of civil infrastructure projects or programsBachelor's Degree in Civil EngineeringRegistration as a Professional Engineer in TexasStrong technical, production design, writing, and teamwork skills, as well as project/program and team management experienceStrong technical writing and management skillsSelf-motivated, able to work independently and multi-task, and lead junior staffPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience managing and coordinating with the Texas Department of TransportationPrevious municipal experienceWe'll get you where you want to goChoosing the right staffing company is challenging.
