    Position Overview

    The Corporate Treasury Analyst role is primarily responsible for supporting the measurement and management of the Company's profitability by ensuring that interest rate, liquidity, and credit risks are appropriately priced into the Company's loans and deposits and providing profitability analytics to senior and executive management. This is accomplished through administration of the Company-wide application of Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) and the Shareholder Value Added (SVA) models.

    In addition, this role is responsible for other Treasury-related analyses as needed, providing exposure to other areas Corporate Treasury including management of interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and the investment portfolio.

    Primary Responsibilities

  • Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)
  • Support the Company-wide application of funds transfer pricing (FTP), which is a highly visible and critical component of the transfer of interest rate and liquidity risks out of the business lines and into Treasury, where they can be centrally managed for the entire Company.
  • Serve as primary support contact for the business lines, educating and assisting them on FTP-related issues, resulting in enhancement of their understanding, and increasing its effectiveness.
  • Participate in the ongoing development of the Company's FTP operations and methodology.
  • Shareholder Value Added (SVA) Model
  • Support the Company-wide application of the Company's SVA model, which is the primary tool used to enable bankers to properly price the various components of their customer relationships and a key component of maintaining overall relationship profitability.
  • Serve as primary support contact for the business lines, educating and assisting them on SVA-related issues, resulting in enhancement of their understanding, and increasing its effectiveness.
  • Participate in the ongoing development of the Company's SVA model and methodology.
  • Interest Rate Risk Modeling
  • Serve as secondary support for sophisticated interest rate risk modeling software used to assess the Company's interest rate risk profile.
  • Work closely with the Asset/Liability Analyst to gather intelligence on the behavior of the Company's assets and liabilities, primarily as it relates to repricing risk.
  • Help to analyze balance sheet metrics to identify key balance sheet drivers and use this information to develop and improve the assumptions that underly the interest rate risk model.
  • Prepare reports for consumption by Senior and Executive Management and the Board of Directors to be used in setting the interest rate risk strategy of the overall Company.
  • Analytical Projects
  • Perform various analytical projects in support of departmental goals, including performing profitability analyses at the bank, market, and customer relationship level.
  • Create meaningful and actionable interpretations of large data sets.
  • Improve existing departmental processes.
  • Management Reporting
  • Develop and enhance management reporting for consumption by Senior and Executive Management and the Board of Directors, helping to ensure they have the information needed to properly assess those risks and incorporate them into the Company's strategic planning.
  • Requirements

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial theory (NPV, IRR, etc.) and its application through development of financial models.
  • Experience with financial modeling and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including proficiency in both oral and written communication, the ability to speak comfortably in front of others, and the ability to explain complicated concepts to non-practitioners.
  • Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of financial markets (specifically fixed income), macroeconomics, statistics and principles of accounting highly desired.
  • Familiarity with any or all of the following: Visual Basic, SQL, and reporting and business intelligence tools such as Oracle Smart View, Tableau, PowerBI or R.
  • This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an advanced degree in a field such as Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering or Mathematics/Statistics OR 2-3 years of related work experience.
