    About the Role

    Our client is a profitable, founder-led manufacturing and technology company with ~25 employees, entering a critical leadership transition and growth phase.

    They are seeking a Vice President of Strategy & Operations who will work directly alongside the current President and CEO, with a clear path to becoming President within 18–24 months.

    This is not a corporate VP role.

    This role is for a builder — someone who has personally built, fixed, scaled, or operated a business, who is comfortable getting into the details, lifting the hood, and executing in imperfect, fast-moving environments.

    The ideal candidate brings low ego, high ownership, and the ability to move seamlessly between strategy and hands-on execution across operations, manufacturing, systems, and leadership.

    • Translate business vision into practical, executable operating plans
    • Partner closely with the CEO and President on company-wide priorities
    • Take direct ownership of day-to-day operations across:
    • Manufacturing
    • Operations
    • Administrative functions
    • Identify operational gaps and personally drive solutions, not just delegate
    • Modernize systems and workflows (ERP, reporting, internal processes)
    • Build, fix, and scale operating systems suitable for a small but growing company
    • Lead and develop leaders through direct feedback and accountability
    • Make difficult decisions under pressure in ambiguous, fast-moving situations
    • Learn the full business by shadowing the President and absorbing institutional knowledge
    • Prepare to assume full executive responsibility as President within 18–24 months

    Requirements (Must-Haves)

    • Builder mindset: has built, scaled, fixed, or materially transformed a business
    • 10–15 years of relevant experience in small or mid-sized companies
    • Background in manufacturing, industrial, hardware, or physical-product businesses
    • Demonstrated hands-on operational leadership (not purely strategic or advisory)
    • Experience working in companies with ~20–100 employees
    • Proven ability to operate in chaotic, under-structured environments
    • Strong operational and systems thinking
    • Experience implementing or improving ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred)
    • Comfort working directly with founders and navigating leadership transitions
    • Willingness to be on-site / hybrid in Holbrook, Long Island

    • Has founded, co-founded, or helped scale a company
    • Has participated in a company sale, exit, or major turnaround
    • Has carried real P&L responsibility
    • Has made high-stakes decisions with personal accountability
    • Engineering-adjacent leadership experience
    • Can clearly articulate specific execution stories, failures, and lessons learned

    What This Role Is Not

    • Not a big-company, heavily structured enterprise role
    • Not a "strategy-only" or advisory position
    • Not a role for someone who avoids execution, conflict, or ambiguity
