- Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, private sector security investigations and intelligence, government, or related fields.
- 5+ years of proficiency in Python, PHP, or similar scripting languages.
- 2+ years of experience as a technical lead or team lead in an adversarial or investigative setting, driving strategic direction.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting large-scale data analysis and utilizing big data tools like Maltego, Palantir, Tableau, etc.
- Proven track record of effective communication and presenting technical findings.
- Experience in investigating and countering high-impact threats.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision in dynamic environments.
- A combination of investigative and engineering skills.
- Experience collaborating with teams across diverse locations and time zones.
- Experience in managing projects with extensive impact or involving multi-organization cross-functional stakeholders.
- Expertise in child safety or human exploitation matters.
- Familiarity with sophisticated cyber threats.

The Security Engineer, Investigations position at Meta
The Integrity, Investigations, and Intelligence (i3) teams at Meta are focused on safeguarding users across various applications such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus from a range of threats including those related to child safety and youth issues.
We are in search of a security engineer to delve into advanced threat actors, enhance investigative techniques, automate and optimize team processes using tools, pioneer innovative approaches to safeguarding individuals from offline harm, and lead a diverse team to develop broad solutions to youth-related abuses.
You will tackle some of the toughest, most complex, and high-visibility risks within the company.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter, driven by results while being passionate about our mission. They should possess the ability to analyze, synthesize, and connect a wide array of data to identify and disrupt threat actors operating across different domains.
Successful candidates should have expertise in scripting languages like PHP or Python and be adept in various technical investigative skills.
The candidate will work autonomously, empower their colleagues, share knowledge effectively, and transform investigative discoveries into scalable insights.
A blend of technical prowess, leadership, business acumen along with refined communication skills and a strong appetite for continuous learning are vital for excelling in this role.
