    Participates as member of admissions team to engage prospective students, parents, and other constituents with the goal of recruiting students to the university.

    Due to this position's interaction with daily campus visitors, the position is fully face-to-face.

  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population is preferred What You'll Be Doing:
  • As an active member of the PLNU Admissions team, is responsible for student recruitment in assigned geographical areas.
  • Conduct appropriate follow-up contacts with prospective students to encourage and confirm application status.
  • Disseminate information about PLNU over telephone and during on-campus visits to prospective students and parents. Establish appropriate contacts with faculty and staff.
  • Represent PLNU at assigned churches, camps, conventions and high schools.
  • Recommend prospective students for admission and scholarship awards.
  • Participate in other admissions activities as requested which may include the development of advertisements and recruitment literature, coordinating campus events.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with all PacWest Conference and NCAA rules and regulations as they pertain to student-athlete admission requirements. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Knowledge of PLNU Admissions and financial aid guidelines, standards, and procedures preferred.
  • Must be an enthusiastic supporter of PLNU and its programs.
  • Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time in assigned recruitment areas.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of the university.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including public speaking skills.
  • Must possess strong detail and time management skills. Ability to work independently and accomplish tasks under deadline stresses.
  • Basic knowledge of word processing and database accessing.
  • Ability to exercise interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with prospective students and their parents/guardians, faculty, staff, and other external contacts.
  • Commitment to a customer-oriented provision of service.
  • Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.
  • Job offer is contingent on a clear background check. Physical Requirements:
  • Overnight travel to areas within the assigned region.
  • Work in office is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for periods greater than one hour.
  • Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
  • Vision to read documents, e-mail and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor.
  • Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person, by phone, and virtually.
  • Will also stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
