    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
    To perform the role of Unit Manager successfully, an individual must beable to perform each key function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations maybe made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the key functions.


    Care and Services:
    Demonstrates the knowledge and clinical expertise required to effectivelysupervise all nursing activities in the facility or the units to whichassignedReviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems relative to theunit(s)Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery ofquality Resident careAssesses and evaluates the performance and competency of staff onunit(s)Uses a systematic approach to provide individualized nursing carePerforms nursing assessments regarding the health status of the ResidentContributes to the Resident's assessment (MDS/RAPs) and the developmentof a plan of careMakes nursing diagnoses which serve as the basis for the strategy ofcareDevelops a plan of care based on assessment, implementing nursing careEvaluates the Resident's responses to nursing interventionsSelects and institutes appropriate nursing intervention which might berequired to stabilize a Resident's condition and/or prevent complicationsConsults with physician or licensed independent practitionerClarifies any order or treatment regimen believed to be inaccurate,non-effective or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensedpractitioner and notifying the ordering practitioner when making the decisionnot to administer medication or treatmentKnows the rational for the effect of medications and treatments andcorrectly administer sameAccurately reports and documents the Resident's symptoms, responses andstatusDesigns, promotes and organizes Resident education and counseling basedon health needsCollaborates with the Resident, members of the healthcare team and, whenappropriate, the Resident's significant other(s) in the interest of theResident's healthcareConsults with, utilizes and initiates referrals to appropriate communityagencies and healthcare resources to provide continuity of careAccepts only those nursing assignments that are commensurate with one'sown educational preparation, experience, knowledge and ability and obtainsinstruction and supervision as necessary when implementing nursing proceduresor practices Job Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Valid registration as an LVN/LPN/RN in the state of PracticeCompletion of relevant state Board of NursingapprovedEOE M/F/D/V
