COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: $56,832 – $67,860 annually | Starting Hourly: $27.32
- FLSA: Non-Exempt | Bargaining Unit: Weed POA (Non-Sworn)

- CalPERS Retirement (9% employee contribution or applicable tier)
- Education Incentives: 3% AA / up to 6% BA (job-related field)

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Operate radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Dispatch police units and coordinate emergency responses.
- Maintain accurate and complete shift activity reports.
- Enter and retrieve law enforcement database information.
- Coordinate with local, county, and state agencies.
- Provide clerical and administrative support as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain California P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate within one year.
- Successful completion of detailed background investigation.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-backs.
- Ability to remain calm, prioritize emergencies, and make sound independent decisions.
- Strong communication skills and accurate data entry abilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily sedentary in a centralized communications center, requiring extended periods at a workstation using computers, telephones, and radio equipment. Employees may interact with distressed callers and must be prepared for high-stress situations. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds required.
