COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Salary: $56,832 – $67,860 annually | Starting Hourly: $27.32
• FLSA: Non-Exempt | Bargaining Unit: Weed POA (Non-Sworn)

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Operate radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
• Dispatch police units and coordinate emergency responses.
• Maintain accurate and complete shift activity reports.
• Enter and retrieve law enforcement database information.
• Coordinate with local, county, and state agencies.
• Provide clerical and administrative support as assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain California P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate within one year.
• Successful completion of detailed background investigation.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-backs.
• Ability to remain calm, prioritize emergencies, and make sound independent decisions.
• Strong communication skills and accurate data entry abilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily sedentary in a centralized communications center, requiring extended periods at a workstation using computers, telephones, and radio equipment. Employees may interact with distressed callers and must be prepared for high-stress situations. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds required.
