    STV is a nationally recognized leader for delivering value and excellence in construction management, engineering, architecture, planning and environmental services and is seeking a Water Resources Mechanical Engineer in White Plains, NY. Key responsibilities will include providing design and construction services on multi-disciplined water resources projects. As a technical leader, the applicant will be responsible for:

    • Leading the engineering design and coordinating with other lead disciplines.
    • organizing cross-functional engineering activities,
    • preparing engineering calculations, writing technical reports,
    • coordinating with vendors on equipment selection,
    • coordinating with permitting agencies,
    • developing design drawings and specifications,
    • reviewing shop drawings and submittals,
    • develop asset management plans in accordance with NYDEC requirements
    • providing construction observation and inspection to resolve issues and ensure construction is in conformance with the design requirements,
    • developing Sustainability Reports inclusive of construction recycling, energy efficiency and performance and climate adaptation,
    • coordinating design efforts among various disciplines and CADD managers,
    • providing Assistant project Management duties, such as Progress report writing, budget control and sub-consultant oversight and management.

    Process operations may include wastewater and water systems such as pumping, grit handling, screening, dewatering and solids handling, primary and secondary settling, aeration, disinfection, clean water treatment, odor control. Special emphasis is placed on mechanical engineering – pumping, hydraulics, blowers, large sluice gates and actuators and Resiliency projects. A key element of the position will be resiliency improvements at wastewater facilities. These include deployable flood logs, structural flood walls, flood doors, equipment modifications and site work.

    Required Skills:

    • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, chemical, electrical, environmental) or a related field, and a minimum of 11 years of experience.
    • NYCDEP experience is preferred.
    • The ideal candidate will have a background in the development of engineering calculations, specifications (CSI format) and design drawings and the ability to review and provide quality control for a construction contract manual.
    • Valid NYS PE is preferred.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
    • Experience with e-Builderis a plus.
    • Excellent writing and presentation skills a must.
    • Experience with Bio WIN or similar process modeling software, a plus.
    • Experience with BIM/Revit AutoCAD a strong plus.
    • Certification as an ENV SP a plus.
    • Advanced degree in engineering or engineering related sciences, a plus.
