    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Develops, implements, maintains, and improves the companys QMS in accordance with the SAE International Aerospace Standard AS9100 in its current revision.
    • Provides quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, outside service providers, and internal manufacturing.
    • Communicates quality standards and assists personnel in achieving these standards.
    • Works with Engineering on new or modified parts and/or articles to identify critical characteristics for inspection and measurement by internal inspectors, suppliers, and incoming inspection.
    • Works with outside service providers on all quality-related and production issues.
    • Maintains required quality records and interfaces with department representatives on internal and supplier issues.
    • Performs annual supplier evaluations.
    • Participates in continuous improvement projects.
    • Chairs the Material Review Board and Management Review meetings.
    • Conducts both internal and external audits for QMS management and process improvement.
    • Represents the company when dealing with regulatory agencies (FAA, DCMA, FDA, DEQ, OSHA, etc.).
    • Receives and evaluates Returned Goods/Customer Complaints and Change Action Requests (CARs). Assigns CARs to owner and ensures appropriate resolution.
    • Inspects parts, materials, and articles as required.
    • Develops and delivers required training.
    • Participates in the hiring, training and evaluation of all Quality Department Personnel.
    • Understands and can perform all essential duties of Quality Technician as necessary.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience working with a Quality Management System that has been Registrar Certified. ISO 9000 or AS9100 a plus.

    Excellent teamwork skills

    Knowledge of aviation industry and familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations is preferred.

    Intermediate Microsoft Office skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook

    Experience developing forms

    Accurate measurement and inspection skills

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    BS or BA from a 4-year college or university in business or a related field.

    Minimum of 5 years experience performing a quality function in a manufacturing

    environment.

    Prefer, but not required, minimum of 2 years supervisory/management experience

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,

    technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

    Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and

    fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

    Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    ASQ certification recommended.

    FAA-DMIR approval preferred

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    Communication. Must be able to clearly communicate with a wide variety of personalities. Be able to clearly compose email messages that conveys the intended message in a neutral, friendly tone. Be able to use the telephone and to handle uncomfortable conversations if necessary.
