Job Title: EKG Technician 1

Job Summary:

• The EKG Tech conducts electrocardiograms to measure the heart's electrical activity, aiding in diagnosing heart conditions. They edit and send test results to the attending physician for analysis, following established guidelines and working under supervision.

Requirements:

• Experience: 1 year in EKG interpretation
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Training: Completion of a basic EKG interpretation course
• Special Skills: Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, understanding of cardiac stress indicators, communication, customer service, and computer skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and ability to operate office equipment
• Licensure: BLS Certification

Job Duties:

• Technical Tasks: Explain procedures to patients while maintaining their privacy, edit electrocardiograms meticulously, post results promptly, assist physicians and nurses in the stress lab, ensure equipment cleanliness and maintenance, explain procedures to patients, and set up halter monitor patients.
• Quality: Ensure all scheduled duties are completed with high quality, manage time effectively, report workflow problems promptly, and support department employees when needed.
• Other Duties As Assigned: Complete any additional tasks as required or requested.
