    Assembly Technician

    Primary Purpose: Install wiring and electrical components to garbage truck assembly.
    General Description: The Assembly Technician is a key part of our final assembly. This position installs wiring and electrical components and minor bolt-on assemblies to the garbage truck as one of the last steps before they are mounted onto the chassis.

    Essential Duties
    • Utilize hand, air, and power tools to bolt on and assemble fabricated metal components.
    • Prepare wire looms, mount lights and switches, add reflectors to cover sheets, and wire finished product in an efficient manner to maximize production.
    • Maintain accuracy of product by following specifications, work orders, and known practices.
    • Inspect and test your own work for function and appearance.
    • Work with electrical wiring, specifically 12 Volt DC.
    • Operate forklift to move around garbage truck assemblies.
    • Operate equipment in a safe manner and report hazards associated with the equipment or its operation to the safety and/or maintenance departments.
    • Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • 1 year preferred with 12 Volt DC, forklift operation, and manual/power tools, willing to train the right candidate
    • Good communication skills.
    • Have a basic understanding of math skills and understanding of fractions.
