    Job Title: Child Care Worker for Parents as Teachers Events (0719)

    Reports To: Family, Parenting and Pregnancy Outreach Coordinator

    Dept. /School: Campus Assigned

    Wage/Hour Status: Non- Exempt

    Pay Grade: Hourly Rate

    Duty Days: As Assigned

    Primary Purpose:

    Actively supervise children while parents attend Parents as Teachers courses. Assist in preparation and management of activities for children in attendance.

    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED
    • CPR Certified preferred
    • First Aide Certified preferred
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Excellent personal and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to move actively through a limited amount of space
    • Ability to act responsibly
    • Strong verbal communication and listening skills
    • Ability to work with children of all ages
    Major Responsibilities and Duties:
    1. Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and skill in working with children.
    2. Take all necessary precautions to protect children, equipment, materials, and facilities.
    3. Assist in preparing instructional materials and crafts to be used during activities.
    4. Organize, and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
    5. Provide and maintain a safe play environment.
    6. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
    7. Sanitize toys and play equipment after use.
    8. Other duties as assigned

    Equipment Used:

    Personal Computer, Printer, and Copier

    Working Conditions:

    Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Able to lift and move small items, chairs, and other classroom equipment. Must be able to lift 25 pounds to waist height.
