- Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 15+ years experience in FPGA firmware development from architecture through implementation, simulation, and hardware testing or 12+ years with a relevant MS degree
- Proven experience with hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog
- Comprehensive understanding of digital signal processing techniques for communications and/or radar.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods for proving out FPGA development on hardware
- Highly motivated personality with the ability to work independently and across a collaborative team environment

Leidos Defense Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Senior Principal DSP Firmware Engineer to join a talented team of engineers and scientists focused on real-time data analysis solutions for state-of-the-art RF collection systems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.LDS's primary mission is to analyze, understand, and exploit foreign threats. The ideal candidate for this position will lead and support DSP firmware development efforts across multiple projects and specialized RF platforms.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area

Pay Range:
Pay Range $144, $260,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
