Here are Nuvance Health we are seeking to add an experienced Sonographer to our growing per diem team. Our Medical Sonographers ( Ultrasound Technician , Diagnostic Medical technologist , Radiological Tech ) provide health care services applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Our sonographers perform ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in the following areas: OB/GYN, abdomen, pediatric extremities and vascular procedures. Job Summary:

Performs diagnostic ultrasonic procedures for the diagnosis of disease, in accordance with established protocols.

Duties:

• Explains the test to the patient
• Instructs and assists the patient in assuming the physical position for examination.
• Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure - makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Selects a transducer and adjusts the equipment controls according to the organ to be examined, the depth of field and other specifications of test
• Obtains permanent record of internal examination by adhering to PACS/Archive protocol.

Requirements :

• Bachelor of Science degree is preferred, but not required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification will be required before orientation
• Must have at least 1 year of prior experience
  

Registered with EITHER:

• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography(ARDMS)
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT):RT(S)
• Cardiovascular Credentialing International(CCI): RVS.

• Work Type: Per-Diem
• Standard Hours: Day shifts 8 hours through out the week
• Salary Range: $50/hour for PRN
• Department: Ultrasound
