Baystate Health, western MA only academic center and tertiary care provider, and home to Baystate Medical Center, the community's major referral hospital, is seeking a Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine to join our team in Springfield, MA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
o The primary focus of the Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine will be to lead and oversee
the daily operations of the MFM Division. This role works closely with the Chair of
Obstetrics-Gynecology, UMass Chan – Baystate and other Division Directors to
support the mission and vision of the institution and facilitate high quality patient
care, while promoting patient satisfaction.
o Dedicated protected time to optimize leadership responsibilities and goals.
ACADEMICS:
o Resident and medical student teaching with faculty appointment at the University of
Massachusetts Chan Medical School - Baystate.
o Collaborate with the program director of our newly approved fellowship in Maternal- Fetal Medicine.
o Mentor junior faculty within the MFM Division and the Department of Ob/Gyn.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:
o Baystate Medical Center has the only high-volume state-of-the-art Perinatal
Diagnostic Center in the region serving a diverse patient population across western
Massachusetts.
o AIUM certified center in obstetric ultrasound, detailed fetal anatomy, and fetal
echocardiography.
o Growing multidisciplinary team of five board certified Perinatologists, two Nurse
Practitioners, 3 nurses, and 11 ultrasound techs working together to provide
ultrasound imaging and perinatal services for low and high-risk pregnancies.
o Strong, collaborative working relationship with general ob/gyn and midwifery.
o Baystate has all the Ob/gyn subspecialties in house, including Complex Family
Planning and Adolescent-Pediatric Gynecology, and a large Midwifery Division with
an onsite midwifery education program.
o Baystate Medical Center has approximately 4,300 deliveries per year, is a Level IV
maternity center with onsite sonography and strong pediatric specialty support from
Baystate Children's Hospital's level III NICU.

Qualifications:
Candidates should be ABMS Board certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Strong commitment to collaboration, courage, quality and lifelong learning is essential. Leadership experience preferred.
