    Manufacturing Engineering Manager

    From Operators to Machinist and Programmers, our team members in our Manufacturing Department can transform a rough product into something complete within exacting tolerances. They enable an organization to produce products on-time and to a customer's requirement. Our Manufacturing team members work alongside many departments such as: Quality, Engineering, and Operations to produce high-quality products.

    What You'll be Doing as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager:

    • Working a Full-time position onsite at our Fife, Washington location.
    • Preferred shift time is Monday – Friday day shift. Other shift times may also be available.
    • Leads the design, development, and implementation of improved manufacturing processes. Manages methods to generate improved workflow, capacity optimization, sustainability and higher ROI.
    • Supervises and manages the preparation and revision of manufacturing plans.
    • Oversees tool design and fabrication in support of new jobs, process improvements and revisions.
    • Responsible for continuous improvement activities, such us kaizen, layout, SMED, etc., in order to improve productivity of the operation to boost efficiency and increase profit margins.
    • Design manufacturing systems that optimize use of materials, throughput and lead-time.
    • Evaluate required technology to improve manufacturing process and provide ROI analysis for Capex.
    • Executes a zero defect and zero non-compliance strategy.
    • Ensures APQP is actively managed on all NPI and NPD projects.
    • Manages, directs and reviews cost estimating for customer RFQ's.
    • Chairs the Readiness Meeting to assess and track organizational readiness for new work and revisions, assessment of quality requirements and capabilities, engineering and manufacturing capacities for on-time delivery of project requirements.
    • Supports Procurement and Quality departments on technical issues.
    • Provides guidance, coaching and mentoring to Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality staff as appropriate.
    • Utilizes knowledge, skills and experience as appropriate in support of overall Company goals and objectives.
    • Contribute to the development and execution of strategies and tactics as part of the Executive Management Team to ensure long-term success.

    Develop, measure and control relevant KPIs for the Engineering Department based on company's objectives and strategic initiatives.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Available to work a full-time position with pre-determined shift times.
    • Exhibits and demands high ethical standards in relations with personnel, suppliers, and customers.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to coach, train and develop others.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, maintain organization and focus despite numerous interruptions.
    • Team player with a can-do attitude.

    Education, Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
    • 8+ years experience with increasing responsibility in aerospace machining
    • 3+ years experience of engineering management or supervision
    • Hands on experience with Manual/CNC Machining (Mills and/or Lathes) is preferred.
    • High-level understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
    • Experience in continuous improvement activities, lean manufacturing, six sigma principles
    • Strong technical background and expertise in aerospace engineering principles, practices and technologies
    • Thorough knowledge of materials, processes, machine capabilities, and inspection methods
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Experience building and developing high performing teams.
    • Must have knowledge of ISO9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate and manage high-performing engineering team

    Work Environment:

    A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

    The Manufacturing Engineering Manager Compensation range for onsite Washington applicants is $95K - $120K commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
