    Job Description

    Prescient Edge is seeking a Software Engineer II (Network Services) to support a federal government client.

    Description:

    • Design, develop, test, implement, and document network/web based collaboration tools/platforms for all engineering and business operations efforts in the RDT&E phase of the acquisition life cycle.
    • Monitor, maintain, and manage the operation and maintenance of network/web-based collaboration tools for all engineering and business operations efforts. This includes reports, plans, summaries, and/or briefs with status and solutions for an operating tool(s) to include a correlation between each solution and the technical requirements.
    • Monitor, maintain, enhance, and manage all system (software/hardware/network/configuration and data management) operations and system administration, integration, and data transfer for modeling and simulation tools, architecture tools, and data repositories within the Naval Integrated Modeling Environment (IME).
    • Transmit e-mail, text messages, and similar communications containing unclassified DoD information using technology and processes that include closed networks, virtual private networks, public key-enabled encryption, and transport layer security.
    • Monitor and control of both inbound and outbound network traffic (e.g., at the external boundary, sub-networks, individual hosts), including blocking unauthorized ingress, egress, and exfiltration through technologies such as firewalls and router policies, intrusion prevention or detection services, and host-based security services. Prompt the application of security-relevant software patches, service packs, and hot fixes.
    Job Requirements

    Typical experience:

    • 3 years of professional experience in software engineering.
    • Experience with applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting.
    • Experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.

    Typical education:

    • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems).
    • Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.

    Security Clearance:

    • Security clearance required SECRET with access to a TS/SCI.
