    We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our company. This person will report to the Director of HR & Marketing.


    The HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the HR department, including hiring and interviewing staff, maintaining employee records, administering benefits, and leave policies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Employment Life Cycle - Recruiting/Hiring/Onboarding

    • Post and monitor job openings
    • Process and review employment applications to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants
    • Inform job applicants of their acceptance or rejection of employment, conduct reference checks
    • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
    • Conduct a thorough orientation and complete all hiring-related paperwork & steps
    • Schedule and execute employee exit counseling and all COBRA documentation
    • Attend job fairs as needed (rare)

    Employee Records & Reporting

    • Compile, audit, and keep personnel records. Record data for each employee, such as address, absences, and date of and reason for termination
    • Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence
    • Update the HRIS software with relevant documentation
    • Maintain and update human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, or performance evaluation forms.
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for attendance, production, and other items as needed

    Benefits & Payroll:

    • Enroll new and existing employees into appropriate benefit programs, such as health, dental, vision, and disability insurance
    • Enroll employees into the Simple IRA, update contributions as needed
    • Prepare all documents and communication for annual open enrollment
    • Compile and record employee time and payroll data to be sent to the accountant for payroll processing. Monitor deduction changes and adjust employee clock punches as needed

    Injury Reporting & Worker's Compensation:

    • Keep track of all injury reports, filing appropriately
    • Record required incidents on the OSHA 300 form
    • Submit claim information to Worker's Compensation carrier
    • Keep relevant team members updated on employee's return to work or restricted duty status

    In all duties, this individual should maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

    Other bonus tasks would include assisting with planning the annual holiday party, monthly luncheons, and other employee culture / organization development related work.

    This is a full-time, hourly role at 32-40 hours per week depending on your needs.

    Technology:

    • Ability to use a PC and related computer programs (MS Office, Gmail/Outlook, etc)
    • Experience with Bamboo HR or other applicant tracking/HRIS systems is a plus, but not required


    Education and Experience:

    • Entry Level: AA Degree/Certificate with 2 years of related experience or Bachelor's Degree in HR related field
    • Mid-level: Bachelor's Degree in HR related field and 3+ years of related work experience
    • SHRM/PHR certification is a plus
