What You'll Do in This Position
Purpose of Position
Plan, perform and document calibrations in accordance with documented procedures, established acceptance criteria (standards), and industry practices as defined in the implementing documents.
Any reference to inspections in this job description includes calibration activitiesMajor Responsibilities
Plan and perform calibrations to SRS standards and measuring and testing equipment (M&TE).
Work from site policies, procedures, vendor manuals, training curriculum and guidance from supervision.
Apply to applicable calibration activities appropriate procedures, codes, specifications, standards, drawings, inspection tools/techniques, items, components, activities, and inspection planning and reporting methods.
Apply job skill proficiencies in inspection techniques and the use of inspection tools, equipment, standards, measuring and testing equipment, and related instrumentation.
Perform calibration activities in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
Perform calibrations and verify output of M&TE.
Read and understand procedures to allow verification of acceptance.
Interpret engineering and design drawings and sketches for implementation of calibration activities.
Perform mathematical calculations as required to determine correct values or make conversions.
Perform verification of corrective actions to ensure elements (task) have been fully and correctly implemented.
Perform proficiency evaluation on inspection activities on other Metrologists.
Interact with suppliers as appropriate for technical advice or information, services to be provided new instruments and procedures, etc.
Qualifications We Desire
Associate degree from an accredited college or university, in
applicable Electronic Engineering Technology, Electronic
Instrumentation Technology, Industrial Electronics Technology,
Electromechanical Engineering Technology or Metrology or high
school/GED and either a graduate of a U.S. Military Metrology
School or four years applicable calibration experience in one or
more of the following disciplines:
electrical, pressure, mass,
dimensional or temperature.
