    Principal Scientist / Associate Director, Immunology

    W2 Contract to Hire

    Salary Range: $156,000 - $176,800 per year

    Location: South San Francisco, CA - Onsite Role

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work in a team-oriented environment to support the pre-clinical assessment and development of novel immunotherapeutics.
    • Manage, plan, and execute in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo studies to evaluate novel drug conjugates.
    • Develop, perform, and optimize in vitro and ex vivo assays using human primary immune cells to evaluate novel payloads, antibodies, and drug conjugates.
    • Design and perform in vitro assays using techniques including primary cell and co-culture assays, reporter-based assays, flow cytometry, and ELISA to generate data essential for decision-making and progress.
    • Develop assays for modeling mechanisms of action of immune-stimulating antibody conjugates in vitro.

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • PhD degree in Immunology, Molecular, or Cellular Biology with 10+ years of industry experience or a B.S. with a minimum of 10-15 years of industry experience.
    • Strong hands-on experience in managing, designing, and executing ex vivo and in vivo experiments to evaluate ADC
    • Significant immunology-based laboratory experience with the ability to perform flow cytometry on primary human and mouse immune cells
    • Experience with isolating and culturing human and mouse primary immune cells, ELISA, and cytokine multiplex assays
    • Proficiency in molecular and cellular techniques, specifically multi-color flow cytometry, cytokine bead arrays, and ELISA-based immunoassays
    • Technical expertise in cell culture and experience working with primary immune cells and isolations from whole blood and tissue
    • Strong background working with biologic agents, with experience working with bispecific antibodies and designing in vitro assays to characterize them functionally being highly desirable
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment
    • Outstanding communicator and a proven manager with strong interpersonal and mentoring skills
    • This position requires working in a laboratory environment with hazardous chemicals. Protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses are required while working in the lab. The position also requires the ability to lift containers or instruments (up to 25 pounds) and stand at a fume hood or lab bench for extended periods.
