    Job Overview

    We are seeking a Senior Thermal Analyst Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will lead the design and analysis of thermal systems for our advanced maritime technologies, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

    Responsibilities
    • Lead thermal analysis and simulation efforts to optimize the thermal management systems of our autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) across a range of operating conditions and environments.
    • Provide technical expertise in structural and thermal analysis, guiding the development of innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
    • Utilize advanced finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools to predict and assess thermal behavior and performance of ASV components and systems.
    • Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to integrate thermal considerations into the overall design process, from concept development to final implementation.
    • Conduct detailed analysis of heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermal stresses to identify potential design improvements and optimize system efficiency.
    • Lead testing and validation efforts to verify thermal performance of ASV designs, interpreting test results and providing recommendations for design modifications.
    • Generate comprehensive technical reports and documentation to communicate analysis findings, recommendations, and design rationale to internal teams and stakeholders.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in thermal management technologies, incorporating best practices and emerging methodologies into our engineering processes.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • Significant experience in thermal analysis and simulation, with a focus on complex engineering systems and components.
    • Expertise in finite element analysis (FEA) software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran, as well as proficiency in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools.
    • Strong understanding of thermal management principles, heat transfer mechanisms, and fluid dynamics, with experience applying these concepts to real-world engineering problems.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and expertise in thermal analysis methodologies and best practices.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of innovative thinking to address challenging engineering issues.
    • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
