    Position Details


    • **Employment Status:** Full-Time

    Position Summary


    The RN - Assistant Director of Nursing plays a key role in assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) in efficiently managing the Nursing Services department to guarantee top-notch patient care in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

    Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements


    • ASN or BSN from a reputable college or university
    • Currently licensed/registered in the relevant State. Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing during employment.
    • Two (2) years' experience in geriatric nursing is preferred, particularly in post-acute care
    • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain valid during employment.
    Specific Job Requirements


    • Establishes connections with patients, families, support departments, etc. to effectively plan for patient needs
    • Possesses extensive knowledge in the field of practice
    • Makes autonomous decisions when necessary
    • Familiar with practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines related to functions in the post-acute care facility
    • Implements and explains the programs, goals, policies, and procedures of the department
    • Demonstrates proficiency in all competency areas such as nursing care, supervision, infection control, patient rights, safety, and sanitation
    • Maintains professional relationships with associates, vendors, etc.
    • Ensures confidentiality of all sensitive information
    • Understands and abides by company policies including compliance procedures
    • Shows integrity and professionalism by following Life Care's Code of Conduct and completing mandatory training
    Essential Functions


    • Aids the DON in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and overseeing the Nursing Services department
    • Conducts interviews, selects, hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises nursing staff
    • Assists in supervising care provided by nursing staff
    • Supervises infection control duties
    • Assumes the DON's responsibilities in their absence
    • Provides direct nursing care as needed
    • Performs the duties of a staff nurse as necessary
    • Demonstrates exceptional customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
    • Assists in patient evacuation when required
    • Demonstrates consistent attendance
    • Utilizes reasoning skills and good judgment
    • Communicates and collaborates effectively within a team
    • Engages in various physical activities during working hours
    • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
