Job Title:
Operating Room Nurse

Location:
Ithaca New York

Type:
Contract

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team to plan and prepare for surgical procedures.
Assess patient health status and develop individualized care plans based on pre-operative assessments and surgical requirements.
Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile.
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments, monitoring patient vital signs, and maintaining a sterile field.
Monitor and evaluate patient responses to surgical interventions and communicate any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
Provide post-operative care and support to patients, including monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and assisting with wound care.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Adhere to all regulatory guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and patient safety in the operating room.
Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain clinical competency and stay updated on best practices in perioperative nursing. #HCC

Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
2 yrs of experience working as an Operating Room Nurse in a surgical setting.
Strong clinical skills and the ability to provide compassionate patient care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Critical thinking abilities and the capacity to make sound clinical judgments in high-pressure situations.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team.
CPR certification and additional certifications in perioperative nursing (e.g., CNOR) preferred.
