    We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our finance team as a Contracts and Grants Analyst. This position supports both pre- and post-award research administration for a diverse portfolio of contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements. The
    ideal candidate will have experience with proposal development, award management, and compliance with federal regulations, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities
    Pre-Award Administration (50%)

    • Review funding opportunity announcements and support the preparation of proposals, including budgets, justifications, and required documentation.
    • Collaborate with Principal Investigators (PIs) to ensure timely and compliant submissions.
    • Assist in developing budgets for proposals and ensure alignment with sponsor guidelines and institutional policies.
    •  Facilitate communication with sponsors and internal teams during the proposal process.

    Post-Award Administration (50%)

    •  Oversee award setup and ensure accurate project initiation in financial systems.
    • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with sponsor regulations, terms, and conditions.
    •  Prepare financial reports and invoices in accordance with sponsor requirements and deadlines.
    •  Support award modifications, extensions, and closeout processes.
    • Assist in audit preparation and provide necessary documentation during audits.
    •  Work with internal stakeholders to resolve issues related to budget management, reporting, and compliance.


    Compliance and Continuous Improvement

    • Ensure adherence to applicable regulations, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), FAR, and sponsor-specific policies.
    • Stay current with changes in grant and contract regulations.
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in research administration.


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience.
    •  3-5 years of experience in research administration, grants management, or contract administration, preferably in a non-profit or research environment.
    •  Familiarity with federal and non-federal grant regulations (e.g., Uniform Guidance, FAR).
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
    •  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
    •  Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


    Preferred Qualifications

    •  Experience preparing and submitting federal proposals and managing federal awards.
    •  Knowledge of federal systems such as , , and
    • Experience with a wide range of award types, including contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements.
    • Certification in research administration (e.g., CRA) is a plus.
