    Job Description:

    Specific duties include:

    • Perform cleaning tasks in hotel rooms in accordance with established procedures
    • Clean occupied and vacant rooms
    • Sweeping
    • Mopping
    • Scrubbing of floors
    • Vacuum and clean carpets
    • Dust and clean furniture and surfaces
    • Clean and sanitize bathrooms
    • Clean windows
    • Remove and dispose of trash
    • Make beds
    • Replace light bulbs
    • Replenish courtesy personal amenities and towels
    • Be alert to and correct or report any deficiencies regarding maintenance or overall presentation observed in any room or adjacent space
    • Record observation and report to supervisor and/or complete maintenance work order or report to building management as appropriate
    • Clean common areas including lobby, stairs, elevators, and buffet areas; remove and dispose of trash
    • Regularly deep-clean hotel rooms (as occupancy allows)
    • Move furniture to clean in unexposed areas
    • Clean sliding glass doors and balcony areas
    • Perform laundry cleaning and preparation tasks
    • Collect dirty linens and transport to laundry service area
    • Operate industrial laundry washing, drying and ironing equipment
    • Clean, inspect, iron and fold clean linens and towels; notify supervisor of damage or losses
    • Perform occasional room set-up and/or breakdown (including moving furniture) in JWRU assembly spaces as directed
    • Set-up maintain, and break down breakfast buffet
    • Monitor inventory of supplies (including linens, cleaning supplies, courtesy amenities, and breakfast items); notify supervisor in a timely manner regarding low inventory of item(s)
    • Inspect supplies from deliveries and stow them in their appropriate areas.
    • Assist with the hotel breakfast buffet
    • Assist with cleaning tasks in other parts of the JWRU as needed
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA, ADA and other relevant regulations at all times


    The JWRU building is a multi-purpose facility with over 600,000 gross square feet of public space, including ballrooms, an auditorium, meeting rooms, a food court, game room, offices, and a hotel with 36 guest rooms.

    The JWRU provides programs, services and facilities to enhance the campus life experience for students and others in the University community.
