    OVERVIEW:
    Senior-level electronics engineering position.

    Uses fundamental engineering principles along with in-depth working experience and knowledge to support design and development of prototype and concept systems.

    Performs assignments and leads projects with minimal instruction and guidance from senior level engineers & managers. Develops new processes and tools. Acts as a resource and provides guidance to colleagues with less experience.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & SKILLS :
    Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and principles
    Ability to clearly communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing including with external customers
    Able to perform in a dynamic, fast paced, cross-functional environment
    Perform complex engineering analysis and problem solving
    Create engineering drawings and specifications

    Experience with typical electronics tools:
    oscilloscope, voltmeter, power supplies, hand tools, etc

    Ability to lead projects:
    develop & execute work plans, budgets, etc
    Ability to develop new processes and tools

    Support business development activities:
    proposal creation, cost and resource estimates, project timing, etc
    Provide guidance and technical expertise to colleagues and other departments
    Ability to fully design and specify mechatronic and embedded systems including component selection, system architecture, control methods, cabling.
    Vehicle systems troubleshooting experience

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
    Minimum of a Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
    Master of Science in Engineering desired
    6+ years of engineering experience

    DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
    High Voltage system design experience
    Electrical and hybrid vehicle systems experience
    MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow experience

    Rapid prototyping tools:
    dSpace, MotoHawk, Raptor, OpenECU
    CAD tools
    Mentor Graphics Vesys or Capital experience
    High Voltage component experience (motors, inverters, chargers, etc)
    Extensive knowledge of automotive, defense or motorsports industry requirements and trends

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    Ability to use common electronics hand tools and test equipment
    Ability to perform diagnostic and troubleshooting activities along with basic electrical repairs on vehicles in a variety of work environments: workshops, outdoor test facilities, etc

    EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
    45 hours per week with occasional overtime required
    Occasional travel may be required


    PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
    In addition to the items mentioned above, the ideal candidate may possess but not limited to all the following:
    Actuator and sensor experience

    Printed circuit board design experience:
    Eagle PCB tools
    Project leadership experience / Program Management
    Experience mentoring others

    This position will require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements.
