    • Lead a dedicated team responsible for nurturing animals daily: feeding, watering, administering medication, vaccinations, and providing enrichment.

    Animal Care Supervisor Essential Tasks:

    • Supervise staff, manage schedules, and ensure proper care for animals.
    • Administer medications and vaccinations, oversee adoptions, and handle animal disposition.
    • Perform various medical procedures under veterinary direction.
    • Manage controlled substances and maintain accurate records.
    • Handle financial transactions, reports, and customer inquiries.
    • Train and support new staff, collaborate with other organizations, attend meetings.
    • Perform additional duties as needed.

    GENERAL STANDARDS

    • Data Involvement: Gathers, analyzes, and uses data to make decisions.
    • Interpersonal/People Involvement: Supervises, assigns duties, and promotes efficiency.
    • Reasoning Requirements: Solves routine problems.
    • Mathematical Requirements: Performs basic mathematical calculations.
    • Language Requirements: Reads technical documents, composes reports, and communicates effectively.
    • Mental Requirements: Performs tasks with attention to detail and under pressure.
    • Decisions/Supervisory Control: Guides decision-making affecting individuals and the public.

    Required Qualifications

    • VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: High school diploma or GED with specialized training.
    • EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Two years of relevant full-time experience with animal care background.
    • SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: Valid driver's license and State Veterinary Board certification in euthanasia techniques.
    • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Flexibility for emergency hours and operations outside of regular duties.

    Preferred Qualifications: Associates or bachelor's degree in related field, two years of supervisory experience.
