    Location: Novi, MI (30% global travel)

    Salary: $100k-$125k

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline
    • 5+ years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing
    • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and AIAG CGI-17 Soldering System
    • SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Implementation and Assembly

    Plusses:

    • Program Management experience
    • IPC Standards knowledge

    Day to Day:

    An automotive supplier is hiring a Parts & Supplier Development Engineer for their Electronics and SMT operations. This role will fall within Supply Chain Management within the organization. The PSDE will be responsible for anything related to supplier problems for current models and new launches. The best candidate will have expert-level knowledge and experience in vehicle electronics and SMT. This is a global role with maximum of 30% travel.

    Deliverables include:

    • SMT Implementation and Assembly
    • SMT Assembly and Soldering Process Failure Analysis
    • EMS/Supplier Process and Quality Assessment Audits
    • Process Risk Assessment and Management
    • Manufacturing Yield Improvement
    • Equipment Evaluation and Selection
    • No-clean and lead-free solder paste evaluation and process implementation
    • SMY Manufacturing Process Audits and process improvement
    • On-site training for all levels of personnel
    • Design for Manufacturability (DFM) specification development
    • Reflow of through-hole feasibility, development and implementation
    • Implementation of new component packages including QFN, BGA, CSP, and Flip-chip
    • SMT process equipment benchmark testing and evaluation
    • SMT product development
    • Lead-free process implementation and optimization
