**Department:** Cascade Grill Restaurant **Location:** Portland, OR
**The Cascade Grill is currently seeking a Server This is a high-volume restaurant, and we are looking for someone with a strong serving background who can work independently to provide superior customer service**
****Scheduled shift will vary and will** **include weekends. The position will start as part-time.****
Responsible for greeting and seating customers, taking food and drink orders, forwarding food orders to cooks, picking up and delivering completed orders, and inviting customer to return. Assist customers in selection of food and beverage items by presenting menus, offering suggestions, explaining specials, promoting other appropriate food and drink items such as desserts, and answering other general questions. Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
Three years previous serving experience in high volume restaurant.
Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations to include making change for patrons.
Must be able to obtain Oregon Food Handler's Certificate and OLCC Server's Permit within 30 days of hire.
MICROS experience is highly desired.
Must be able to handle a wide variety of personalities and situations to achieve highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or walk for a minimum of six hours. Use hands and fingers for filing, to operate a computer key board, cash register, and phones. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee is required to talk, see, and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds with the aid of a dolly.
