    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain professionalism and punctuality.
    • Take ownership and accountability for your actions.

    • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations.

    • Ensure maintenance, upkeep, and safety in facility/program structures.

    • Demonstrate OPWDD Core Competencies.
    • Promote health, wellness, and safety.
    • Provide appropriate supervision of individuals with disabilities.
    • Know when to seek administrator support.
    • Show willingness to assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
    • Transport and escort individuals with disabilities for recreational activities, medical appointments, home visits, etc.
    • Build positive relationships using person-first language.
    • Maintain a therapeutic environment through various methods.
    • Implement person-centered plans.
    • Complete documentation for compliance and billing.
    • Apply foundational teaching skills.
    • Assist with making purchases and safeguarding personal funds.
    • Manage crisis situations.

    Education and Experience

    • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred; some college education is beneficial.
    • Work or life experience with intellectual/developmental disabilities is a plus.
    • The ability to support people with intellectual/developmental disabilities is essential.
    • Basic written and verbal communication skills are required.
    • Familiarity with basic computer knowledge.
    • A valid NY State Driver's License may be required depending on the position.
    • Tuberculosis testing is mandatory for most positions.

    • Initiative-taking abilities.

    Westchester, NY

    Part-time schedule available

    Compensation

    $16.50-$18.00 per hour
