    Come join the Retail Operations team and bring your ability to quickly analyze, think and respond to the constantly evolving retail business needs


    As the Director of Retail Operations at the LEGO Group Americas, you will be instrumental in ensuring the operational excellence of our retail stores across the regions.

    Reporting directly to the VP of Stores, Americas, and EMEA, you will manage a team of operations professionals and collaborate closely with the East and West Senior Directors of Stores and District Managers, Global Excellence, and EMEA peers.

    In addition, you will work indirectly with digital teams to upscale resources.

    Your role will be pivotal in supporting initiatives that cultivate motivation and satisfaction across all LEGO stores in the US and Canada.


    Core Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership:
    Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize retail operations and drive business growth aligning with organizational goals.

    Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational strategies with overall business objectives.

    Provide strategic mentorship and direction to the operations team to ensure the successful execution of initiatives.


    Team Leadership and Development:
    Lead, coach, and mentor the operations team to drive performance excellence and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.

    Provide leadership and support to District Managers, encouraging collaboration and alignment with store-level operations.

    Identify training and development opportunities to improve the capabilities of the operations team.


    Cross-Functional Collaboration:


    Work closely with the East and West Senior Directors of Stores to align operational strategies and initiatives with regional objectives.

    Collaborate with Global Excellence and EMEA peers to share standard processes, tap into connections, and drive operational excellence.

    Partner with digital teams to upscale resources and ensure alignment between digital and brick-and-mortar retail operations.

    Support Initiatives for Motivation and Happiness:

    Find opportunities to improve motivation and happiness across all US and Canada store locations.


    Collaborate with PPC (HR) and other relevant partners to develop and implement initiatives that support employee engagement, well-being, and career development.

    Support and drive diversity and inclusion initiatives.


    Operational Excellence:


    Be responsible for all aspects of store operations, including inventory management, logistics, facilities/ PO maintenance, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

    Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across all retail locations.

    Supervise key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to assess performance and find opportunities for improvement.

    Do you have what it takes:

    Preferred Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent working experience

    5+ years' experience in Operations, matrixed organization (supporting retail stores is a plus).

    Strong leadership skills with a shown ability to lead and develop strong teams.

    Strategic problem solver with the ability to develop and implement operational strategies that drive business results.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate optimally with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

    Experience in the retail industry, with a strong understanding of retail operations, inventory management, and customer service standard processes.

    Knowledge of LEGO Products, brand, and culture preferred.


    Experience partnering with senior level leaders (VP) to ensure the people agenda is aligned with the business priorities, including experience acting as a coach, Policies and procedures, Efficiency, and trusted advisor to senior leaders.


    Strong track record of handling multiple priorities and deadlines across several partners in a constantly evolving and increasingly sophisticated business and retail environment.
