    Description
    Position Overview:

    The IT Infrastructure Administrator I is a pivotal technical resource within the IT team, focusing on the stable operation of the company's core IT systems. This role encompasses the administration, support, and optimization of the network infrastructure, server environments, and communication systems.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    System Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance:
    • Installs, configures, maintains, and monitors network and server infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality, reliability, and availability.
    • Administers connectivity for managed endpoints, including configuring and optimizing network routing and core hardware.
    • Supports VoIP telephony, data center environments (both physical and cloud-based), endpoint management systems, and print services.
    Security and Updates:
    • Monitors and manages directory and domain services, ensuring system security.
    • Applies security patches and program updates to protect against vulnerabilities.
    • Manages data backup operations, contributing to disaster recovery planning and execution.
    Technical Support and Improvement:
    • Provides after-hours support for infrastructure services, ensuring continuous operation.
    • Proactively identifies and recommends improvements to user-facing technology.
    • Responsible for researching and resolving technical issues, serving as a mentor and escalation point for the IT team.
    • Develops knowledge base articles for issue resolution.
    Technology Evaluation:
    • Evaluates new technologies, preparing recommendations for IT management to support strategic planning.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and no experience required.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience in IT support, network administration, or system administration can be used in lieu of the degree requirement.
    • Experience with or knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
    • Basic understanding of network infrastructure and system architecture.
    • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, or Unix.
    • Knowledge of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Able to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
    • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity practices.
    Work Environment:
    • Office environment with some travel required.
    • Occasional work in closed spaces, like server rooms, required.
    Physical Demands:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
    • Manual dexterity required.
