- Prepare/edit complex drawing packages using CAD software, including multiple views, diagrams, assembly drawings, and elevations.
- Visualize and portray complex design features requiring advanced drafting skills.
- Use mathematical formulas for computations such as weights, capacities, dimensions, and material quantities.
- Work from sketches/verbal information to determine appropriate views, details, or supplementary information needed for assignments.
- Select required information from precedents, catalogs, and technical guides.
- Utilize various drafting techniques and mastery of CAD system command/data entry methods.
- Define scales/views for orthographic/axonometric drawings according to design/documentation requirements.
- Create electrical schematics/connection diagrams from rough sketches or design information.
- Develop layouts/drawings of items/assemblies within weight/dimensional limits.
- Estimate drafting time/cost requirements; manage project time/cost.
- Proficiency with Solidworks, Draftsite, and PDM software.
- High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of technical training plus 5 years related experience.
- Experience with DoD or federal agency drawing standards is preferred.
