    ConocoPhillips is Alaskas largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1.6 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2021. The company produced an average of 197 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2021. ConocoPhillips has major ownership interests in two of North Americas largest oil fields, both located on Alaskas North SlopeKuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips operates the Alpine Field located on the Western North Slope. The company has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.

    Description
    The Materials Sourcing & Contracting Specialist position is responsible for the successful implementation and execution of procurement strategies associated with Alaska Wells & Exploration materials. This includes developing sourcing strategies, negotiating and executing contracts, post award contract management, and procuring materials from SAP/GEP. This position will report to the Director of Wells & Exploration Supply Chain in the Alaska Business Unit.

    In addition, the role is accountable for managing supply chain interfaces related to contracts, expediting, QA/QC, logistics, and materials management. The position is also responsible for ensuring compliance of all procurement-related matters with applicable corporate, supply chain standards, legal, ethics, regulatory, insurance, finance, tax, and HSE requirements.

    Job Description Your responsibilities may include: Materials Sourcing & Contracts

    • Understand and implement the cradle-to-grave process of purchasing materials & related services
    • Perform contracting and purchasing activities - reviewing, proposing revisions and implementing agreements using standard documents/forms and following contracting policies and procedures
    • Effectively work with BU business partners and stakeholders, fellow Supply Chain staff, legal and Quality, HSE, and other relevant internal resources
    • Author contracts in Company contract systemsreview requested changes to language and facilitate functional review and any required approval processes
    • Analyze suitability of potential suppliers in accordance with Company vendor qualification criteria
    • Gather market and Contractor information through market intelligence and RFIs
    • Develop and implement sourcing strategies, in accordance with Company process and policy, to achieve the best value opportunities
    • Coordinate formal RFx for long term commitments, sizable purchases, and when appropriate
    • Facilitate evaluation of technical bids and lead commercial evaluations while considering schedule, cost, HSE, and quality assurance
    • Prepare Recommendation for Approval documents and be prepared to brief all levels of leadership to obtain required approvals
    • Develop, implement, and manage contracts in accordance with Contract Management Plans and KPI's. Handling change management and resolution of any claims
    • Support Wells initiatives and projects by communicating with key stakeholders, planning and coordinating contract needs, and recommended strategies to support Alaska Wells & Exploration. Able to balance large number of contracts in various stages of development in both larger and smaller/local tier
    • Purchase of material process from cradle-to-grave & related services
    • Liaise with operations teams to coordinate the purchase of materials
    • Issuance of Purchase Orders. PO and related invoice error resolution

    Procurement Support

    • Ensure stakeholder needs are met by proactively addressing any issues within the R2P process
    • Timely ordering of materials & services
    • Coordinate and document technical clarifications
    • Efficient communication of order statuses
    • Coordinate and document changes to Orders
    • Invoice error resolution
    • Create and manage material RFQs, which may include complex specifications, drawings, etc. Be able to create and document Change Orders as applicable
    • Create Purchase Orders. Understand the data included, and the differences in these documents, and correctly employ them. Understand all nuances of the transactional process and be able to tailor purchasing documents to effectively address risks & concerns
    • Complete the following auxiliary transactions in SAP:
    • View / report on purchasing history, based on a variety of criteria
    • View invoicing history, based on a variety of criteria. Understand key variables
    • View supplier and material data, based on a variety of criteria. Understand key variables
    • Additional transactions as required to address concerns and issues

    General

    • Complete the following using Outlook, Teams, and other tools:
    • Daily interaction with Suppliers
    • Daily interaction with various stakeholders end users, Technical Authoritys, Accounts Payable, etc.
    • Use available technology to manage work list / updates
    • Manipulate Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, including the use of formulas
    • Create & edit Microsoft Word documents
    • Create & edit Microsoft PowerPoint presentations

    Basic/Required:

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
    • Basic understanding of financial acumen, business operations and contract terms and conditions
    • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on an annual basis

    Preferred:

    • Bachelors degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field or foreign equivalent
    • 3+ years contracts and procurement related experience
    • 3+ years oilfield related experience
    • Advanced leadership skills as a self-starter, able to readily assume responsibility for all procurement and contracting activities on the project.
    • Intermediate skill in the formulation, negotiation, establishment, and management of contractual arrangements
    • Intermediate knowledge of cost and pricing methodologies
    • Intermediate skill in SAP creation and maintenance of outline agreements, service and/or purchase orders and reporting activities.
    • Effective communication and social skills required to work in a dynamic project team environment and be influential
    • Understanding of the Alaska market and sourcing impacts/influences
    • Listens actively and invites dialogue to gain a shared understanding, then influences and acts to drive performance and achieve business results
    • Initiative to work without constant supervision
    • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
